Musicology Road Trip

Just the title makes you really excited, right?

Today, I’m heading south to Tallahassee for a grad student musicology conference. This conference was the vision of Advisor that became a reality last year, as Advisor’s vision became my vision and my work (and the very hard work of several friends/colleagues in the department). So this second year, FSU is hosting and four of us are heading down to share our research with grad students from two other universities.

Between the four of us, we’ll touch on Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries, Cowpunk music, the Star-Spangled Banner, and a little-known American musical theater/operetta composer.

And now you’re just dying to be in the car with us for 5-6 hours, aren’t you?
